1. What made you want to start your law practice?
I had dreamed of opening my own practice since law school. I am motivated to help people and welcome the challenge and hard work that is running your own business. Waterdown is a beautiful place and when I realized the opportunity to make an impact in my own community, nothing was going to get in my way!
2. If you had to pick one thing out of your day, what’s the most exciting / favorite?
The most exciting part of my day is when I settle a file and my client is happy with the result. It is a personal win for me as well when they thank me for my hard work. It is rewarding to know that I am helping people and making a difference in their lives.
3. Who is your ideal client?
I enjoy working with all sorts of clients of various ages, genders, nationalities, and religions. My ideal client and I will share a mutual respect and we will have trust in one another; they are organized, reasonable and will work well with me to properly prepare their case.
4. What do you consider your biggest weakness?
I would describe myself as efficient, and my interest is helping my client as quickly as possible to find a solution. I realize at times I can be overanxious to get to the point and obtain resolve without taking enough time to really understand what my client needs emotionally. I need to remind myself that my client has feelings, just as I do.
5. How are you improving on that weakness?
With each client, I will compare their struggles with some of my own past experiences so I can empathize. When you can connect with your client on that level you will build trust and comfort between both parties.
6. What is your biggest strength?
My biggest strength is that I pour my heart and my soul into my work. I take pride in what I do, and I am driven to obtain results for my client. I will work around the clock to get the results we need if that is what it takes.
7. How do you like running your practice?
I love running my own practice in Waterdown. I am very proud and excited to be a business owner and advocate. It is very rewarding to help people everyday and I feel like I am giving back to the community.
8. If you could change one thing about your businesses day-to-day routine, what would it be?
I will always do everything possible to follow through on a commitment made to a client. I treat each and every case very seriously. Often as a lawyer, you are required to appear in court with little or no notice. I would like to have more control over these disruptions so as not to
disappoint my client and respect their busy schedule.
9. If you had a chance to say one thing to a brand new client, before they walk in the door, what would it be?
Relax. Take a deep breath. I am here to help. Let’s work together and find a solution!
